Percutaneous left ventricular puncture in the assessment of aortic stenosis.

چکیده
In the assessment of cases of aortic valve disease with a view to operation, the standard methods of investigation are of limited value. Right heart catheterization gives some indirect information by measuring the cardiac output and the pulmonary capillary pressure. Some information can be obtained from a study of the peripheral arterial pulse wave, but this too cannot always supply a definite answer. Two questions have to be answered in assessing a case of aortic valvar disease. The first is whether, in a patient with signs of pure aortic stenosis, symptoms such as angina or dyspnoea are due to the aortic stenosis or due to associated coronary disease or pulmonary disease. The second is whether aortic stenosis or regurgitation is dominant, in a patient who has a mixed lesion. These questions cannot be answered by indirect methods of investigation. Further information in such cases might be obtained by measurement of the systolic pressure gradient across the aortic valve. This has been a standard procedure in the case of pulmonary stenosis for many years. Measurement of the systolic gradient across the aortic valve is a routine procedure at operation for aortic stenosis. We have now developed a method by which this information can be derived from pre-operative left ventricular pressure measurements.

Detection of Cardiac Hypertrophy by RVM and SVM Algorithms
The meaning of the hypertropy word is the increasing size.Heart hypertropy is symptoms of increase the thickness of the heart muscle that the left ventricular hypertrophy of them is the most common. The causes of hypertrophy heart disease are high blood pressure , aortic valve stenosis and sport activities respectively. Assessment of that by using ECG signal analysis is essential Because the ris...

IN THE STUDY of hemodynamics in aortic stenosis until the last decade more or less indirect methods were used, such as electrocardiography and phonocardiography, and direct and indirect pulse tracings. At best the results would confirm a clinical diagnosis but often were of little help in the surgical evaluation of the valvular defect. Only after the introduction of left-sided heart catheteriza...
متن کاملAssessment of mitral valve disease by left heart catheterization.
Many studies of the pressures in the left atrium and the left ventricle of patients with mitral valve disease have been published. Initially obtained by direct puncture of the cardiac chambers at operation, such recordings have since been made possible by the development of techniques of left atrial puncture as a diagnostic procedure before operation. Direct determinations of the left atrial pr...
متن کاملAcquired Infrarenal Abdominal Aortic Coarctation: Treatment with Percutaneous Self Expandable Stent
Abdominal aortic coarctation is an extremely rare vascular pathology. Its etiology can be congenital or acquired. Here we present a case of acquired infrarenal abdominal coarctation in a 66-year-old woman who complained of low back and legs pain. She had no signs of resting lower limb ischemia, with diminished distal pulses and normal blood pressure in upper and lower extremities. Magnetic reso...

Abstract Background: Balloon valvuloplasty uses for treatment of aortic stenosis from 20 years ago. Regarding loss of information about results of balloon valvuloplasty of hereditary aortic stenosis, this study was done to determine prognosis and complication of balloon valvuloplasty during last 10 years. Methods: This study was done on existing data of all children with hereditary aortic...
